KINESTHESIA started as a Hyper Island student project. It is an interactive audio-visual experiment developed for the exhibition Fluorescent Space Vibration in Stockholm, October 2014.
The Brief: Create a 30 sec teaser for the exhibition, no more, no less. It should start and end with a circle. Think about sound.
KINESTHESIA refers to the perception of movements of one's body, it's relationship to it's limbs, muscles and also the space and objects around it.
We wanted to explore that sense of bodily movement and connect it to the senses of seeing and hearing, creating an experience where you not only can hear music but also feel it, almost touch it.
How does it work?
Kinesthesia uses the Microsoft Kinect to track the users movements, translating the position of hands and arms into data for Ableton Live.
Each possible movement is mapped to a certain button, slider or knob in an array of effects making the slightest movement instantaneously recognizable and creating a sense of real control of the senses.

A Hyper Island student project for Animal Protection Network. Promoting awareness for bear bile farming.
The brief: Create a video to promote awareness for bear bile farming in China.
Our goal was to make a video that would create awareness without the explicit content we had to go through, being age appropriate for adults and kids. Inspired by the story of a young girl that made his father change from bear bile producer to creating a bear rescue center, we created Barely a Life.
Project made by Ines Leite (me), Alessandro Nobile, Jet Hilferink, Mads Broni and Per Fridsjö.
My role: Idea generation. Internal organs design and animation. Moodboard direction.
